Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, along with a group of investors, have purchased the XFL football league.

The XFL is a professional football league that showcases players who didn’t have success in the NFL or just didn’t make it to the NFL. It gives many of these players a second chance to follow their dream. Before the purchase, the XFL had filed for bankruptcy, and was in danger of folding.

The Rock’s purchase will ensure the XFL players and employees still have jobs to come back to this football season.

The Rock was a college football player at the University of Miami from 1990 to 1994. He also has experience in the sports world as a WWE wrestler. WWE is a sport that relies very heavily on promotion and salesmanship, so The Rock and his investors are being called a dream-team ownership group. It remains to be seen if The Rock can use his influence to bring the XFL any long term success, but his $15 Million investment has saved the league for now.
