‘The Late Late Show’ host James Corden had EGOT winner and ‘The View’ host Whoopi Goldberg on the show and shared some exclusive news.

The story begins back in 1992 where the first ‘Sister Act’ was released in theaters, the film starring Whoopi Goldberg made a cumulative worldwide gross of over 200 million dollars and became a worldwide hit for all ages.

The film would release its’ second installment into the franchise the following year, ‘Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit’. This also went on to become a fan favorite and featured some of today’s most recognizable idols like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lauryn Hill and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Corden invited the ‘Ghost’ star to discuss amongst other things, his love for the ‘Act’ movies and the status of a potential third installment.

“For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it and then quite recently it turns out that that may not be true. Goldberg continued. “We’re working diligently to figure out how to get the gang together and come back.”

Corden followed the announcement by saying, “I would love it so much” and many others share the same sentiment.

In 2017, some of the cast reunited with Whoopi Goldberg on ‘The View’ to celebrate the film’s 25th Anniversary. Goldberg would revisit her character Deloris Van Cartier in singing with her former cast mates Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makken, Darlene Koldenhoven, Beth Fowler, Andrea Robinson and Prudence Holmes for one of the tunes “I Will Follow Him”.

“It’s a really fun movie. It’s fun and it feels good.” Goldberg said. No details on a possible release date but Goldberg seemed excited about the chances of it happening.

Goldberg also briefly spoke about her new limited series The Stand which is based on author Stephen King’s 1978 book about a global pandemic set to premiere on on CBS All Access. She plays a 108-year old woman who explores the struggle between good and evil through who she believes “should restart the world”.

The show is set to premiere on December 17 and the official trailer is available below.
