Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony teams up with the Jordan Brand Wings Scholars program to give 32 students four – year scholarships to the university of their choice or alternatively any post-secondary education program.

Honestly these are the things in life you love to see nowadays. It seems like 2020 will just never cease to disappoint but with the on-going pandemic wrecking havoc on everyone’s social and economic life’s, it is nice to see a professional athlete become a role model and give the future of America hope in such dark times.

Personally, I would love to see more stories like this once come out. There are many more foundations, such as the LeBron James Family Foundation and Steph Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play Foundation, that push the importance of education above all else. This is especially important when focusing on the younger audience as they need role models to look up to that can help shape their future in a positive way.

It will be interesting to see what the lucky 32 scholars will do as the education system is just a little bit screwed because of COVID-19. Universities and Colleges alike are currently facing issues relating to careless students being exposed to the virus and potentially spreading it to their peers and family. Due to this, many schools are opting to be online only which could have a significant impact on the students learning down the road. Nevertheless, this is an excellent opportunity for these young adults to take advantage of the education at their disposal and to look forward to what their future holds.
