The Memphis native has joined Music City Baseball, a group that is gaining popularity and wishes to get a baseball team to Nashville, Tennessee. Music City Baseball is &#8220;gaining momentum&#8221; in their quest to get a team to Tennessee, and plans to call a potential team the Nashville Stars, which would honor the Negro League team that played in Nashville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s what Justin Timberlake told the local Tennessean paper about joining the group:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am thrilled to be involved in the movement to bring Major League Baseball to the great state of Tennessee. I believe in Music City Baseball&#8217;s vision of linking baseball and music in a unique way to unite and entertain people and I am excited to help generate awareness throughout the community as we share our vision for bringing MLB to Music City.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Timberlake joins the &#8220;MLB to Nashville&#8221; efforts just a few months after baseball executive Dave Dombrowski hopped on board as an investor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Loar, leader of Music City Baseball, wanted to get a recognizable name from the state&#8217;s music scene. Timberlake, who is also a minority owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, was an obvious choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding key investors is far from the end of the battle to bring MLB to Music City as they still need to work out on majority ownership, financing, building a stadium, paying for the stadium and territorial rights.
