Actor Michael B. Jordan is ready to engage viewers through the experience where according to media company, Variety, the well-known Black Panther actor will be producing Static Shock, a film on DC Comics superhero Static, through his own production company Outlier Society.

The project was first revealed back in August 2020 at the DC FanDome panel, when filmmaker and DC Comics writer Reginald Hudlin announced the film was in the making. He told fans he was excited to bring back the character, which was created by the outdated Milestone Media—a group of Black artists and writers who specialized in comic book distribution by DC Comics.

As Michael B. Jordan states on the development, “I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around Black superheroes; our community deserves that. The Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros. on this initial step.”

As you may have sawed the word “superhero” and assumed Jordan would be the lead, he will be behind the scenes for this film. The series was created by DC Comics in 1993 and featured in the animated Kids’ series, Static, the crime-fighting name of teen Virgil Hawkins, who first gains electromagnetic powers after being exposed to experimental chemicals.

With all being said, I am stoked to see Michael B. Jordan produce this new film! I have been in love with the superhero ever since I watched the Static Shock series as a child on WB every morning and noon.
