Beyoncè turned 39! The birthday girl decided to celebrate her big day in a big way. Besides spending the day with her family of five, she chose to use her birthday as a way to give back.
Beyoncè donated $1 million through her BeyGOOD foundation to help black-owned small businesses.
BeyGOOD foundation was started in 2013 by Beyoncè to “to inspire people to be kind, to be charitable and to #BeyGood to themselves, to others, to the community, and to our world”. Last month, BeyGOOD partnered with NAACP to launch a black-owned small business impact fund to help businesses impacted by COVID. The first twenty recipients of the fund featured a photographer, tennis academy and a farm.
BeyGOOD has also partnered with Global Citizen creating the Global Citizen fellowship. Both BeyGOOD and Global Citizen are continuing their partnership further to help educate and empower young people.
