The “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” cast reunited to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary.

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunion debuted Thursday on HBO Max which left many happiness and tears, including myself. The reunited cast included Will Smith, Daphne Reid who took over as Aunt Viv for the remaining seasons, Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton Banks, Karyn Parsons as Hillary Banks, Joseph Marcell as Geoffrey Butler and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The cast came together (minus the great James Avery, who died of complications from open-heart surgery in 2013) to honor the 30th anniversary of the hit comedy that originally aired on NBC for over six seasons.

One of the most anticipated moments in the show is sure to be Will Smith’s sit down with Janet Hubert, who played the original “Aunt Viv.”

The audience also learns why she left the series due to unforeseen events, as Hubert discussed in the sit down with Will Smith.

As did the tribute to James Avery, whom his fellow cast members hail for the lessons he taught them all as well as his amazing acting.

The series is beloved by viewers of all ages, and is bound for a reboot and is coming to the Peacock streaming service. As inspired by the writer and director Morgan Cooper’s viral video who reimagined “Fresh Prince” as a both dark and edgy drama.

Will Smith said in a statement: “We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season order from a pitch,” I’ve been in this business for 30 years, and that does not happen.”

I hope to see the new episodes as I have always binged watched the old episodes of the show! 😊
