Due to the Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore Thanksgiving game being delayed, Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was able to spend the day handing out home cooked meals to the elderly.

Thanks in part to the JuJu Foundation and Dive Bar & Grille, JuJu was able to help the elderly around the Pittsburgh Area by delivering home cooked thanksgiving meals to those who could not attend family gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

JuJu wanted to make sure that he was doing his part as Thanksgiving has made such an impact on his life and family saying, “Today is a very special day for so many reasons…my grandmother is very near and dear to my heart when it came to Thanksgiving”. He continues by adding that “They all sit at the head of the table, they were always there first you know it’s all about family tradition and that’s something I have always had a passion of”.

In my mind, Thanksgiving is one of the most important times of the year. Not because of the food or the festivities but in major part to the overall concept of family. We take for granted every day the amount of time we have left to spend with the people we care about the most. Now, with the pandemic, families are forced to stay apart during Thanksgiving but as JuJu has shown there are still ways to make impacts during these tough times.
